Week 4 Learning Experiences

Literacy Personalised Assessment

We have done lots of different types of assessments over these first few week's but I am glad to say that this was the last one! 

Having had a quick look over the results, I am pleased to say that I have been really impressed and look forward to sharing your child's results at parents evening. 

Numeracy

We continued to develop our understanding of place value through exploring powers of 10 more and less. We will continue to focus on this next week as an introduction into addition and subtraction. 

We have used lots of physical resources and pictorial representations to support visualise the different mathematical concepts. This has supported securing the children's understanding, particularly when crossing a tens boundary.

We have been enjoying our class book!

This week we introduced our new class book. The learner's utilised their inference skills to make predictions about what they think might happen in the story based on the front cover. I wonder who was closest to prediciting correctly. 

The children have also used their summarising skills to show their understanding of the text.
