Phonics and Spelling

This year, we will continue to develop our phonics and spelling skills using the Monster Phonics programme. Building on the excellent progress made last year, pupils will continue to strengthen their reading, writing and spelling through engaging daily phonics activities.

To support learning at home, spelling words will be sent home every Friday. Children should practise these words throughout the week and will be tested on them the following Friday. Regular practice at home will help children become more confident and successful readers and writers.
