World Book Day
We had a wonderful afternoon exploring Glyncollen Woods.
We did a litter pick on our way to the woods. It is important to look after our community and the environment.
We listened to the poem, 'Sound Collector' by Roger McGough and then sat and listened to all of the different sounds we could hear.
The Nature Trail was really interesting! It took us around the grounds of Glyncollen House, with its orchard and grand old trees. We spotted the remains of the old estate and found nature sculptures carved in the trees in the woods. We were excited to see that lots of the animals were the same as our class names - Erys; Sgwarnog; Gwdihw; Cadno.
We spotted lots of signs of spring: daffodils; snowdrops; crocuses; buds
There were posts in the woods with lots of information on:
* Each post had a letter in red and white. We collected the letters to make a word in English and Welsh
* Each post had a rubbing plaque. The rubbings showed features you may see in the woods, e.g. Hedgehog/Draenog; Bluebell/Clychau'r gog; Apple/Afal
Time to play a Time game!
