The Power of Maths-

How does Mathematics power the world?

This term, our topic is How Mathematics Powers the World. We will explore the achievements of two remarkable mathematicians: Robert Recorde, the great Welsh mathematician, and Katherine Johnson, a trailblazing woman of colour whose work at NASA changed history.

Through our study of Katherine Johnson, we will consider how being a woman of colour influenced her career and how she overcame challenges to become a true inspiration and role model.

As part of this topic, we will write a diary entry, a book review, and an explanation text to deepen our understanding and develop our writing skills.
