Today, we had an enriching experience at the Llanelli Wetlands Center. We explored the vital role wetlands play in mitigating climate change and examined the effects of plastics on our environment. Additionally, we ventured into the local surroundings and learned about the various bird species inhabiting the area. This visit was a perfect conclusion to our inquiry, "How can we, as children, reduce the impact of climate change?"

Using iMovie to create, shoot and edit our own exercise routines
During this weeks Health and Wellbeing Cwest, Eryr were challenged with creating thier own exercise routine, filming it and editing it using iMovie. It needed to include: clear cuts, appropriate music and a voice over.
What uses 'Machine Learning' in real life?
Today, inspired by Alex from Technocamps, we explored the fascinating world of AI using Scratch and Machine Learning for Kids. We trained an AI model to distinguish between positive and negative comments. J and H demonstrated their understanding of machine learning applications in real life, such as autonomous vehicles and how Google Maps uses data collection to enhance map efficiency.
Wales New Recycling Law
We planned and created mini films about Wales New Recycling Law. This led us to begin our discussion about 'Should Plastic be banned completely?'
Eryr's Wellbeing Presentation
At the conclusion of our topic focused on holistic health, the children organized a wellness fair for community members. They showcased their learning through engaging presentations and interactive stations. Over six groups, the children educated attendees on various aspects of maintaining health, covering topics such as the benefits of adequate sleep, the practice of yoga and meditation, the role of physical fitness, and the value of kindness. This event highlighted their comprehensive understanding of the importance of nurturing both mental and physical health.

Cynefin: Q+A with Alex Pennock (A local semi-professional football player)
As part of our topic 'Being Our Best (Physical Health)', Alex, the goalkeeper for Penybont and Briton Ferry, shared stories about his childhood and his journey to becoming a semi-professional football player. He gave us advice on how to overcome setbacks, be resilient, and choose a future path that is fulfilling. The children asked thoughtful questions such as, 'How do you deal with losing?', 'What do you feel is important about sleep?', and 'What do you eat to stay healthy?' Alex stayed after his interview and took his place in goal against the formidable Eryr football team."
