🌍 Homework Task: Exploring Recipes from Around the World
🥗 Our Learning Theme
We are learning about valuing differences, including the beliefs, traditions, and cultures that make our world wonderfully diverse. Food is one of the most enjoyable ways to learn about other cultures, so your task this week is to explore a recipe from a different part of the world.
🍽️ Your Task
Choose one country or culture that interests you and research a simple recipe that you could make in school.
The recipe should:
Use simple ingredients
Be safe and easy to prepare in a classroom
Take no more than 20–30 minutes to make
Reflect something special about the culture it comes from
🔍 What You Need to Find Out
Write down the following information:
1. 🌎 The Country or Culture
Where is it in the world
One interesting fact about that place or its traditions
2. 🍲 The Recipe Name
What the dish is called
Why it is popular or when it is usually eaten (if you can find out)
3. 🥣 Ingredients List
Keep it simple
Note any ingredients that might be tricky to find
4. 👩🍳 How to Make It
Write the steps in your own words
Keep the instructions short and clear
5. 🎨 A Picture
You can draw the dish or print a picture if you prefer.
💡 Examples of Suitable Recipes
These are just ideas — you can choose anything:
Guacamole (Mexico)
Fruit sushi (Japan-inspired)
Chapati (India)
Greek salad (Greece)
Hummus (Middle East)
Bruschetta (Italy)
⭐ Challenge Option
If you want to go further, explain:
What this food tells us about the culture
How trying foods from other places helps us value differences
