Autumn term
Welcome to Dosbarth Cadno's Autumn Learning journey. We hope you enjoy watching your little Cadno's grow and explore.
Today we spent the morning building some Habitats for different animals. As our current topic concentrates on 'what is home and what it looks like' we decided that we would try and build a home for a Polar bear 🐻❄️, Fox 🦊, Monkey 🐵 and an Elephant 🐘. The children worked in groups to build their homes and to present to everyone else what the animals need to survive and thrive. Da Iawn!

Question of the week (21.09):
"What are thoughts made of?"

Here are some of the images from this weeks classroom activities.
We have been concentrating on Place value in maths. We have been identifying the Units and Tens in a double digit number and splitting them to understand how a number is built.
We have also been completing art in the class. (See below post for the finished product).
The class have also been doing some Yoga to help them relax in the morning and to prepare them for a full day.
Autumn art
We have been using our collection of leaves and sticks from last weeks Outdoor learning session to create art this week. The class have created an amazing gallery of 'Cadno's'. Da iawn dosbarth. 👏

This term we will be concentrating on two books within our topic:
***
'Can I Build Another Me?' by Shinsuke Yoshitake - an illustrated book for children that asks the question of what is it that makes me me. When a small boy decides to make another version of himself he must first identify what makes him him before he can build the bot.
We will be focusing on how each person is unique qualities and how these can be shaped by our communities. We will look at how these unique qualities make us special in such a diverse world.
***
'Life Savers: Spend a day with 12 real-life emergency service heroes' by Eryl Nash - This uplifting picture book showcases the amazing work our frontline staff do, the incredible skills they have and the important equipment they need to save a life, in a unique graphic novel-inspired non-fiction format.
This non-fiction book will be used to look at the special people that make up our local and wider communities.

Today was our first outdoor learning session and we spent time exploring our incredible grounds and looking at the different trees we have. We also started collecting leaves to create art next week. The class loved exploring and finding creatures and plants.
